What’s on in North Luffenham during November 2014

Sat 1st

Bell ringing at the church, starting at 5pm members of the Rutland Branch of the Peterborough Guild of Church Bell Ringers will be ringing for about an hour and a quarter before moving on to Edith Weston.

Sun 2nd

“Evensong” from The Book of Common Prayer at 4.30pm (please note change of time during the Winter) at St. John the Baptist Church.

Mon 3rd

Painting and drawing with the Art Group from 1:15pm for a 1.30pm start, finishing at 3.30pm.

Weds 5th

Bonfire Night Fireworks display on the Oval, starting at 6pm.

Knit & Natter from 7:30pm to 9:30pm please contact Liliane Coogan for details of venue.

Sun 9th

The church bells will be rung, half muffled, for the annual Remembrance Sunday Service.

“Remembrance Service” at 10.45am. with standards from British Legion, Scouts, with participation from the Army & wreaths to be laid on our Commonwealth War Graves at St. John the Baptist Church.

Sun 16th

“Benefice Holy Communion Service” at 10.30 in Edith Weston with the Bishop of Brixworth, the Right Reverend John Holbrook.

Mon 17th

Painting and drawing with the Art Group from 1:15pm for a 1.30pm start, finishing at 3.30pm.

“Pets Service” short family friendly service to bless your pets – all types of pets welcome! at St. John the Baptist Church.

Tues 18th

Bell Ringers last practise of the year starting at 7:30pm –  If anyone is interested in seeing the bells being rung, or would like to consider taking up bell ringing, they are more than welcome to pay us a visit.

The speaker will be Simon Lee, professional photographer, based in Stamford. Simon specialises in Automotive and Marketing photography for the World’s biggest Magazine titles. An evening of Speed- with exciting pictures of Planes and cars…. As usual, it will be held in the Community Centre at 8pm . All visitors are very welcome (non-members £2)

2014 Pre-Christmas Sale poster“Pre-Christmas Sale” at the Community Centre 2-4pm, an opportunity to stock up with Margaret’s home made preserves, chutney, cakes, jams, brandy mincemeat- Elizabeth’s Christmas flower arrangements – Kay’s hand made jewellery – Jane’s Christmas cards & wrapping paper with Raffle. Entrance £1.50 including tea & biscuits. Children free – In aid of Church Roof Fund.

“Family Service” at 9.30am –short service with refreshments afterwards at St. John the Baptist Church.

N.L. Golf Soc. is meeting at Rutland Co. on Sat. 29th Nov. 10 for 10.30pm. This is the first meeting of our golfing year and everyone is welcome. Please contact us the Golf Society if you are interested in becoming one of our very happy band. Handicaps range from 36 to 5!
