Chater Bowls AGM

The Chater Bowls Annual General Meeting will take place in The Fox in North Luffenham at 2:30 pm on Monday 25th February.

Non members welcome to attend.

Chater Bowls is situated on Pinfold Lane in North Luffenham. We play friendly matches throughout the Summer from May to September with other local bowling clubs.

New to the area or just retired and wondering what interests to pursue. Come and join the friendliest bowling club in Rutland.
We have roll ups on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 2:00 pm when you can try your hand at the game.

Chater Bowls Club Annual Dinner

On Friday 18th Jan Chater Bowls Club held its annual dinner at The Falcon Hotel in Uppingham. 19 members attended and a good time was had by all.

Presentations were made to Brian Edwards for winning the singles knock out and to Mary Matthews and Roger Whittle for triumphing in pairs knock out competition.

Chater Bowls 2018 AGM Highlights

  • The AGM was held in the warmth of Fox Inn on Monday 26th Feb. We would like to thank Jason Allen for making us most welcome
  • Officers for 2018 will be:

             President:  Bindon Carter, Secretary: Alan Costello, Fixture Secretary: Richard Chown

  •      Club in good financial health with a cash surplus
  • The number of confirmed matches has once more reduced from 31 to 21 this year. 11 at home and 10 away.
  • The annual subscription to remain at £40.
  • The Match Captains for 2018 will be;
    • May & Sept    Derek Britton
    • June                Dave Kisby
    • July                 To be arranged
    • Aug                 Ian Gill
  • A Date for the Alan Rose Trophy will be confirmed later.
  • The first roll up will be 2pm on Tuesday 1st May (TBC)
  • The first match will be Sun 6th May at Greetham commencing at 2:30 pm

Chater Bowls Club Annual Dinner

Once again on the 26th January Chater Bowls Club  held its annual presentation dinner at the Falcon Hotel in Uppingham.

 

 

 

 

 

The singles knockout trophy was awarded to Carol Bates. She also won the pairs trophy along with Alec Rose.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I think everybody won something in the raffle and a good time was had by all.

Chater Bowls Club Season Over

Outdoor bowling at Chater Bowls club on Pinfold lane has now finished for 2017.

The winner of the singles knockout was Carol Bates and the winner of pairs knockout was Alec Rose and Carol Bates. They are both residents of N. Luffenham.

So if anybody else in the village wishes to emulate them and fancys a go at outdoor bowling next year, you can contact me  at chaterbowls@gmail.com.

Chater Bowls Club 2017 AGM Highlights

The AGM was held on Wednesday 5th April at the Clubhouse on Pinfold Lane

  • Officers  for 2017 will be:

President:  Bindon Carter, Secretary: Alan Costello, Fixture Secretary: David Clanchy

  • Club remains in good financial health.
  • The number of matches  remains at a similar level as last year (approx 33).
  • It was agreed unanimously to make Sheila Love a lifetime member.
  • Annual subscription to remain at £40
  • The match captains for 2016 will be

  • Thursday evening roll ups will be moved to the afternoon so roll ups will now take place on Tuesday & Thursday afternoons.
  • The first roll up will be at 2 pm on Tuesday 11th April 
  • The first match Sat 15th April at home to Market Overton commencing at 2:30 pm.
