Chater Bowls Club in North Luffenham, opens its doors to Summer 2018 from 2pm on Tuesday 1st May. This is when we will be holding our first meeting for Club members to limber up for the coming season and offers superb an opportunity for potential members in the locale to test themselves with expert advice on hand if required!
So do come along and try your hand at Sir Francis Drake’s favourite game in the fresh air of North Luffenham!!
Chater is a small and particularly friendly club which, in addition to its weekly get-together, plays friendly matches, usually around twice a week in the Summer, against local clubs in Rutland, Leicestershire, Northants and in and around Stamford.
So why not consider spending the Summer in the excellent company of girls and boys who, whilst being slightly competitive (well who is not!), put the emphasis on having fun.
We have spare sets of bowls available; all we ask is that you wear flat soled shoes. Remember it’s 2pm on TUESDAY MAY 1st.

The Matthews family figured prominently amongst the prizes, Mary Matthews winning the singles knockout trophy and with husband Dick in winning the pairs knock out competition.
The Alan Rose Memorial Shield was won this year, by Ken Fogelman.
Bindon Carter, the club chairman, also presented Ken Fogelman with a leaving present on behalf of the club as he moving, with his wife, to the Isle of Man. Ken will be greatly missed both in his role as club secretary and his enthusiasm for the club. We wish both of them good luck in the future.
