It is our policy to give local bodies an opportunity to comment on proposals to undertake works to trees in conservation areas. We write to the appropriate Parish Council asking for any comments to be returned within 21 days; the local press may also publish details of your proposal. Details of your notice of intention can be inspected at the Council Offices during normal working hours which are Mon-Thurs 8.30 am – 4.45 pm and Friday 8.30 am – 4.15 pm except Public Holidays. All comments are carefully considered before a decision is made.
The Planning Authority has six weeks from the date of receipt of your notice to consider the proposed tree work and we will visit the site during this period to make an assessment of the works. If you have not received written confirmation of EITHER the Authority’s consent to carry out the work by 15-Nov-2015 OR alternatively written confirmation that a Tree Preservation Order has been placed upon the tree(s), you may proceed to carry out the work detailed in your Notice as long as you do so by 05/10/2017. We will, however, endeavour to inform you of our decision before the six week period expires.
