Chater Community Choir – seeking new members

Ever fancied joining a choir but never had the opportunity? Well, your local choir in Rutland is looking for new members to join their Spring Programme.
Rehearsals restart on Tuesday 16th January for 14 weeks until our concert on Friday 26th April.

We are a mixed choir with circa 50 members so a warm welcome is ensured😉

Plus, don’t forget to post your festive card to friends in the village via the Church tree; Janet’s collecting your cards and donations at Dove Cottage, 4 Church Street until morning of 22nd December.

Only Two More Sleeps to go before the Sins of Sinderella…

The ‘Pop Up’ Mulled Wine stand will again be appearing alongside the Panto Performers in the car park at the Fox this Friday 15th December. Hosted by Lin Burrows & the amazing Adele this year, we will be selling Jason’s finest mulled wine, festive stars made by the AgeUK Charity ‘Men & Women in Sheds’ and taking donations by card & cash for this annual extravaganza.

Hot mulled wine available from 6.30pm, Panto starts at 7pm prompt(ish)… See you there 🎄✨🎪

Christmas Greetings to Friends & Neighbours… via our very own Festive Tree in North Luffenham Church

Last year the Parish Church was given a wonderful large wooden Christmas Tree made by Men & Women in Sheds, Rutland. This year we would like to start a Community Christmas Card Scheme for the residents of North Luffenham whilst raising funds for the Church & making our parishioners’ lives simpler.

To share festive greetings with your friends & neighbours in the village, please drop your Christmas card, along with your donation for the Church to Dove Cottage, 4 Church Street, North Luffenham before 22nd December (date of our Carol Service).

Your cards will be displayed on our unique wooden Christmas tree in the porch of the Church which will be specially lit for the occasion.

Thank you for joining in our new village ‘tradition’ 🎄

Looking for a unique and sustainable Christmas tree?

Our Rutland Men & Women in Sheds members lovingly craft wonderful wooden trees made to order and they have been a hit with many local business & residents for the last few years.

Made from repurposed pallet wood, they can be made in varying styles and sizes and are a great alternative to a real Christmas tree.

All proceeds from the sale of the trees directly benefit the Shed which provides a safe place for individual pursuits and community projects for local older people 🌟

To order please email our Rutland Shed:- rutlandshed@ageukleics.org.uk

Thank You from Pauline Tyler’s family

Jason, Caitlin, Benjamin and Tracy Steward would like to thank everyone for their thoughtful wishes, cards and flowers and to everyone who attended Pauline’s thanksgiving service yesterday – including all our 4 legged waggy-tailed friends!

The flowers are being left in North Luffenham church and we’d very much like the village to be able to appreciate them whilst they last so please do pop in especially if you couldn’t be there with us.

Thank you.

Pauline Tyler’s Funeral Arrangements – Wednesday 7th June

Mum’s funeral cortege will be leaving Rosewood, North Luffenham at 10.45am for a short private family service at Great Glen Crematorium. If you like to see her off on her last journey please feel free to stand outside in the Close as we depart.

All are invited to attend Mum’s funeral service at North Luffenham Church on Wednesday 7th June 2023 at 1pm.

It was a specific request of Mum’s that all her dog walking friends who are able to come, bring their dogs to the church service – so please feel free to do so and fulfil her wish.

Please do also join us afterwards at The Fox for food and refreshments. Dogs are also welcome at the pub (but in the bar area only).

There is a tribute page here https://paulinetyler.muchloved.com where you can view the funeral details and also leave a donation to mum’s chosen charities.

Many thanks

Jason and Tracy Steward
