Thank You from Pauline Tyler’s family

Jason, Caitlin, Benjamin and Tracy Steward would like to thank everyone for their thoughtful wishes, cards and flowers and to everyone who attended Pauline’s thanksgiving service yesterday – including all our 4 legged waggy-tailed friends!

The flowers are being left in North Luffenham church and we’d very much like the village to be able to appreciate them whilst they last so please do pop in especially if you couldn’t be there with us.

Thank you.

Pauline Tyler’s Funeral Arrangements – Wednesday 7th June

Mum’s funeral cortege will be leaving Rosewood, North Luffenham at 10.45am for a short private family service at Great Glen Crematorium. If you like to see her off on her last journey please feel free to stand outside in the Close as we depart.

All are invited to attend Mum’s funeral service at North Luffenham Church on Wednesday 7th June 2023 at 1pm.

It was a specific request of Mum’s that all her dog walking friends who are able to come, bring their dogs to the church service – so please feel free to do so and fulfil her wish.

Please do also join us afterwards at The Fox for food and refreshments. Dogs are also welcome at the pub (but in the bar area only).

There is a tribute page here https://paulinetyler.muchloved.com where you can view the funeral details and also leave a donation to mum’s chosen charities.

Many thanks

Jason and Tracy Steward

‘BEE’ ON THE LOOK OUT!

It’s swarming season for the honeybees. If you see a cloud of bees, accompanied by a loud buzzing – this is a honeybee swarm. It’s not at all dangerous, but you may wish to avoid it. The swarm will eventually land on a tree branch looking something like this –

The beekeepers of Luffenham are keen to identify swarms found locally, so if you see one, please let us know by text or call 07973 508547.

Many thanks, Deb King

New NL Benefice Magazine Correspondent Needed!

Due to relocation out of the area, our current Magazine correspondent for North Luffenham – Liz Ritchie – is stepping down and we therefore need someone to take on the role.

This involves collating the information sent in regarding events & club activities being held within the village as well as any other relevant information. This is not an onerous task and is also a great way to get to know more people within the village! It requires about one half day per month and the odd phone call to event organisers.

Our thanks to Liz for all her hard work over the past year and we wish her & Jim all the best in their new adventure ‘up north’!

The deadline for the January issue of the magazine falls mid-month, on 15th December so it would be great to have someone in place by then.

Meanwhile, if anyone would like to know more about the role please contact Liz Ritchie before December 5th on 01780 720210 or email liz.ritchie23@me.com

Chater Community Choir’s Christmas Concert – tickets now available from a choir member near you!

The choir will be supporting the Rutland Food Bank, which along with helping local people with food poverty are wanting to donate each family they help with a warm blanket this winter.

After the concert there will be the opportunity to enjoy a mince pie or two and a glass of festive cheer in the Village Hall.
