A ‘Joint statement on collaboration around devolution’ has been published on theRCC website and gives infomation on recent developments; https://www.rutland.gov.uk/council-news/2025/02/joint-statement-collaboration-around-devolution

You can sign up to the RCC newsletter which will keep you informed of developments: https://rutland.us17.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=701a79f06a837f06b3435b688&id=fa75226981

Following a review of trees on The Oval the recommended remedial work has been carried out. There are a number of logs as a result and residents are welcome to gather them for their own use.

Have your say on improvements to improve access to health services in Rutland.

The NHS for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) is inviting people to have their say on proposals to improve healthcare services in Rutland.

The proposals would improve services for people by bringing together two existing local services – the Minor Injuries Unit and the Urgent Care Centre, creating a Minor Illness and Injury Service which would be open 8 hours a day, 7 days a week in Rutland Memorial Hospital.

There is also a short video that summarises the proposals https://youtu.be/Tt54n16QivQ

Your chance to comment on Regulation 19 is from the now until the 2nd of December.
The Local Plan has already been through multiple stages of development, the Regulation 19 consultation does not ask for views on alternative options. Instead, it offers a final chance to comment on whether the Plan is legally compliant and ‘sound’

Could you offer a safe, loving home to one of Rutland’s children?

Could you be the lifelong difference for one of Rutland’s children?

Maybe you could offer a weekend home once a month for one of Rutland’s children as a Short Breaks Carer?…

There are no age limits if you are over 21.

Postal Votes: Press Release from RCC.

WHAT TO DO IF YOUR POSTAL BALLOT HAS BEEN DELAYED

All postal votes for the Rutland and Stamford Constituency were issued to Royal Mail on time in two batches (one batch issued on 20th June for postal voters registered before 4th June, the second batch issued on 24th June for postal voters registered after 4th June).

Royal Mail are handling a large number of postal votes for all constituencies in the general election. As of Friday 28th June, the Council is aware that some postal voters in the Rutland and Stamford area are yet to receive their ballot papers.

If postal ballots are not received from Royal Mail on Monday 1st July, voters can request a replacement ballot by calling Rutland County Council on: 01572 720 954. This can then be collected from the Council’s Catmose offices in Oakham, once processed.

If waiting until Monday 1st July to receive your postal ballot means you will be unable to vote and you have not already done so, please contact the Council urgently before 4.30pm on Friday 28th June by calling: 01572 720 954.

Some Council staff have experienced verbal abuse when trying to assist postal voters affected by these delays. This behaviour is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
