Thank you from ‘The Fox’

The-Fox-111062561_869068546490371_6642532133286044656_n

“Thank you to everyone who has supported The Fox and your kind feedback in our first week of opening.

As we enter our second week we would like to clarify our position as to the welcoming of children at the pub as there would appear to be some misunderstanding.

The Fox is a community pub which strives to welcome all, including of course well behaved children accompanied and supervised by an adult. We would however respectively request that no children are in the bar and lounge area after 8pm as you will appreciate this is an adult environment after this time.

Again a massive thank you from the whole team to all who have made our first week so enjoyable”

The “Dirty Cowboys” to play at the Fox & Hounds

Fox & Hounds over Xmas and New Year

Carols round the treePlease join us at the Fox and Hounds for carols around the tree on Friday at 7.30 followed by the Christmas draw.

Christmas Day, we are open lunchtime only (but not serving food.?!?).

Most other times are normal except New Years Eve, when we’ll be opening at five in the evening instead of six and going through until 2014 (the year that is!)

The weekly quiz will be running as of New Years Day ( due to popular demand!)

Best wishes to all our customers for the festive period and for 2014.

Fox News! – Funds raised for Fibromyalgia, Body Shop party, Quiz kitty and Winter leagues starting

Quiz Update

Monthly quiz returned last evening and was won by Anty’s Mob. Runner’s up, Lads On Tour both winning cash prizes.

We’ve changed a couple of things in the quiz and we now have a kitty that the pub adds £5 every month (rollover if it’s not won).

Next monthly quiz is Oct 13th and the pot will be £10. Everyone welcome £1 pp entry fee, no limit on team members AND a free bowl of chips at half time!

Charity Events

Fibromyalgia Association UK LogoThe weekly quiz last week was in aid of charity and it was written and run by Sian. We held a raffle as well and on Saturday, a car boot sale. We raised £280 in total, half donated to FMAUK (Fibromyalgia Association) and the other half to Stamford Fibromyalgia Support Group.

If anyone would like any information on the condition that Sian herself struggles with, please pop in and have a chat to her. She’d be happy to help and put you in touch with the local group.

Many thanks to everyone that donated raffle prizes and items for the car boot sale and for coming along and spending your money!

Winter Leagues

Winter being around the corner, the quiz and domino leagues start again over the next two weeks.

Along with this, we are now entered in a local darts league and are looking for those that have already put their names down to play, and anyone else interested, to come along this Thurs eve at 7.30 ish to go over the details.

Upcoming Events

Oct 7th we’re hosting a BODYSHOP party. 7.30 start and everyone is most welcome. No pressure to buy ( not even a drink!).

Nov 4th will be a Christmas (and general) card and small gift evening. As above.

1st Anniversary

This week sees our first anniversary here so (as always) we’d like to thank all of our customers for their continued support. Here’s to an even bigger and better twelve months!

Pub Quizzers raise £150 for MS Trust’s Be Bold in Blue

The Petanque team have not had the best of starts to the season with a couple of losses under their belts!

Wednesday May 1st saw us holding the M.S. Trust’s Blue Week quiz. As Colin & Janet Heasell were in charge of the questions, I got to take part and had great fun, joining the team that came second to Anty’s Mob.

The pub and Colin & Janet donated a few prizes and we held a raffle for them. With the money from the raffle and Anty’s Mob handing over their winnings to the cause, we raised £150 for the trust!

Thank you to everyone that came along and supported this and it was lovely to see two teams from South Luffenham too!

Lovely Yoga Faces!

A Face Lift Yoga workshop was held in the sunny Inspire2tri studio on Saturday 20th April for people to try out yoga and learn about the benefits of yoga for the face.

A talk was included highlighting the negative effects of stress on the skin and face muscles and the session ended with a guided relaxation exercise.

Yoga Smiley Faces

This photo shows the lovely ladies of the Manton group basking in the sunshine with their faces all a-glow following the massage and yoga exercises.

The workshop was organised and ran by yoga teacher Deb King of Do-Yoga!

Find out about further workshops and regular classes held at their website – www.do-yoga.co.uk
