Preparations for the Annual Bonfire Night at The Oval North Luffenham are well underway. The weather forecast is saying the skys will clear in time for the fireworks tomorrow.
The bonfire itself is a bit reduced from previous years, and so if you have any unwanted, unpainted, wood that could help build it up that would be appreciated.
If you want to donate wood, please feel free to take it to the Oval, and place it by the large shelter. It will be placed onto the pyre tomorrow
The mobile vaccination centre will be in North Luffenham this afternoon for walk in Covid and Flu vaccinations

Uncertain of your IT skills then this is a course for you. It will take place over four weeks in the North Luffenham Community Centre.
Yes, it’s what everyone’s been waiting for all year, the return of the North Luffenham Pantomime. Put it in your diary so you don’t miss out on another thespianic happening to rival anything the National Theatre could ever dream of!
Date: Friday 15th December 2023
Venue: The Fox, North Luffenham
Time: 7.00pm
We had the first meeting of willing volunteers the other evening. Many of last years cast were there plus some very exciting new members. So the scene is set for another of those “special Pantomime moments” this December. There is till time to join in if you want to. Our next get together is on 31st October at The Fox at 8.00pm. (A fitting evening when ghosts come out of the closet and ghastly happenings are brought to light!) Please do come along.
The Referendum on the the North Luffenham Plan is underway.
Voting is in the Community Centre from 7am – 10pm.
You don’t need the polling card but you are required to show Photo ID.
The annual Bonfire & Fireworks event hosted by North Luffenham Parish Council will go ahead on The Oval on Sunday 5th November 2023.
Doors Open 5.30pm; Bonfire lit 6.15pm; Fireworks 6.30pm
In order to make it a safe and successful event, we do need more volunteers on the night to assist with Stewarding & Bucket Collections. If you can help, please email Tim Smith at timsmith@northluffenham.org.uk
Hi Everyone
It will not have escaped your notice that temperatures are falling rapidly. Therefore, based on the arctic conditions for last years panto, it must be pantomime time again!
This is just a quick reminder that the first meeting for this years pantomime will take place at 7.00 tomorrow (Tuesday) night at The Fox. Everyone is welcome to come along and join in. No acting ability is required (you should know this if you saw last years panto!) I would love as many people to be involved as want to be, either as actors (luvvies!!) or “behind the scenes”.
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow night.
Simon

The main focus of the clear up was the removal of the Ivy on the stone wall of The Oval. The before and after photos demonstrate the improvement. The area around the restored village pump was also cleared up and looks much better. Efforts will be made in the future to prevent regrowth, possible damage to the wall, and keep the village pump an attractive feature.
