LRALC Internal Audit Service – opportunity

Leicestershire and Rutland Association of Local Councils (LRALC) is launching a new Internal Audit Service from April 2018.  As part of this initiative they are continuing to recruit competent and independent internal auditors who are familiar with local council operations and the “proper practices” which apply to the sector.

They are seeking potential candidates. Find out about LRALC Internal Audit Service

Prize giving for Village Plan Survey submissions

The Village Plan survey offered a prize for a meal for two at The Fox and everybody who did the survey was invited to enter a telephone number. The draw took place at The Fox and the winning number was drawn by one of the bar staff.

Myra was the lucky winner and decided to have lunch with a friend.

They had an enjoyable meal.

(The Steering Group for the Village Survey are grateful to Jason Allen, landlord of The Fox, for providing the prize).

A reminder that there will be a presentation of the results of the Village Survey at 7 pm on Thursday 25th January in the Community Centre.

St George’s Barracks Development – Village Consultation

On Thursday 7th December the Parish Council hosted an open meeting in the Parish Church to discuss the proposed development of St George’s Barracks by a Public / Public Partnership formed by the Ministry of Defence and Rutland County Council. Cllr Cummings explained the rationale for holding the meeting which was to help gauge opinion and to encourage others to join the Working Group, to enable the Parish Council to better understand the Villagers’ concerns and aspirations regarding the development of the site. A summary of the meeting is attached. Further meetings will be held to enable all villagers to express their views. As noted in my previous posting all villagers are urged to contact their local MP to ensure that he is best placed to represent your views:  alan.duncan.mp@parliament.uk
