Apple Tree Pruning and Grafting Workshops

If you would like some help and advice on how to look after your apple trees, Stamford Community Orchard Group (SCOG) are running pruning and grafting workshops in the next few weeks.

The pruning workshop is on Saturday 22nd February 10am – 1pm at Castor.

The grafting workshop is on Saturday 8th March from 10am – 1pm at Egleton.

Autumn term commences for Art Group

The new term started for the Art Group on Monday 30th September in the Community Centre and will be followed by meetings fortnightly – 14th and 28th October, 11th and 25th November, and 9th December.

The first few sessions will concentrate on basic drawing techniques followed by mixed media.

New members from outside the village are welcome to join the Art Group.

All meetings start at 12.45pm and finish at 3.0pm.

New Yoga classes starting this week in Preston

Fancy a new way to keep fit and healthy? Why not give yoga a try?

2 new classes begin this week on Tuesday 3rd September at Preston Village Hall.

The morning class runs from 9.30 – 11am and consists of gentle strength building exercises to help with posture followed by a lovely guided relaxation.

The evening class (8 – 9pm) focuses on releasing tension from the spine and relaxing the body and mind. For more details have a look at the Do-Yoga! website or contact Deb King.

Lovely Yoga Faces!

A Face Lift Yoga workshop was held in the sunny Inspire2tri studio on Saturday 20th April for people to try out yoga and learn about the benefits of yoga for the face.

A talk was included highlighting the negative effects of stress on the skin and face muscles and the session ended with a guided relaxation exercise.

The workshop was organised and ran by yoga teacher Deb King of Do-Yoga!

Cricket Club Youth Coaching Sessions

Junior cricket coaching sessions will begin again on Monday 15th April 2013 from 6pm – 7pm for 5years (foundation year) – 13years old.

New members & players always welcome. Tuck shop open!

Junior annual membership is £10 per child plus £3 each week. (Max £5 per week per family).

Developing the Next Generation of Footballers

Saturday Morning Football Club

We are going to be running a SATURDAY MORNING FOOTBALL CLUB AT ST MARYS & ST JOHN SCHOOL, NORTH LUFFENHAM. The sessions will be open to BOYS & GIRLS from the ages of 5 to 11 years, regardless of their ability! The sessions will start at 10.00 and run through till 12.00.

Head Coach, Glenn Vaughan is a Centre of Excellence coach and scout for Peterborough Utd Football Club. There will be a chance for promising players to be invited in for a trial.

Whether your son or daughter is a beginner or experienced players, the club will cater for all!!!

The sessions will be taken by qualified, CRB checked, experienced and caring coaches.

The sessions will offer the chance to practice passing, dribbling, shooting and some of the skills the professionals use today. It will be run in a fun, safe, educational and relaxed environment.

One Touch Football Soccer School

One Touch Football Soccer School set themselves high standards, giving children interesting & stimulating football sessions so that they leave with a sense of achievement.

PLAYERS SHOULD wear suitable footwear and clothing (shin pads are recommended).

The Saturday morning club will run throughout the academic year starting on 6th October, we will then charge £3.00 per session.

Study the colours of Winter paintings

This term the Art Group will be meeting Mondays on Jan 14th & 28th, Feb 11th & 25th, March 11th & 25th @ the Community Centre from 12.30 – 3.00pm.

Basic drawing techniques will start the new term but the introduction of using pen and ink and fineliners will produce new qualities to drawing.  Later in the term we will look at colours in Winter, studying paintings for inspiration.
