Barrowden Fete and Open Gardens

SUMMER FETE – BARROWDEN – starts at 12.00, 29th June. Lots of family fun on the village green ; BBQ, Pimms, traditional fete stalls; classic cars. Battle of Britain Flypast. Plus the renowned Duck Race on the pond.Proceeds to St Peter’s Church and village groups.

Sunday  June 30th from 12 noon until 5 pm. 8 interesting gardens will be open to the public.Tickets on the day from the tent on the Village Green. £5.00 for adults. Accompanied kids under 16 go free. 
Cream teas available in one garden. Proceeds to St Peter’s Church Re-ordering.

Road Closure Lyndon Road. This notice is now cancelled

Inclusion of St George’s Barracks within the 2017 Local Plan

Last Summer the County Council issued a consultation document seeking views on the inclusion of a development at St George’s Barracks within the Local Plan. The results of this consultation have been quietly published and can be found on the County Council’s Web Site at:

The results of the consultation show that there is very little, if any, support for the inclusion of the St George’s Barracks Site within the Local Plan. That is to say that there is strong condemnation and concern at the proposals put forward by the County Council. Your voice has been heard – the challenge will now be to make RCC change the current proposal to build over 2,200 new homes on the site. The Parish Council will be publishing a response to the consultation document shortly, which we will send to every County Councillor.

Outing to Brightwater Gardens and Norwell Nursery

Wednesday 12th June 2019. Brightwater Gardens, Saxby, Nr Lincoln and Norwell Nursery, nr Grantham

Would anyone wishing to join the group going on this day out please contact us (Katy Ellis 01780 722173/07845 987281). We have a few places left to fill.

The coach leaves the village at 9.30 am, the cost is £30 each for entry into both the gardens, including the travel, and a guided tour by Dr Andrew Ward at Norwell. We will need to take picnic lunches to eat in the gardens; tea/coffee and biscuits are available to buy.

It promises to be a lovely day out, so please come and join us!

St Mary and St John CEVA School in North Luffenham are holding their school Summer Fete on Saturday 6th July between 12pm and 3pm
