Rutland County Council is conducting a compulsory review of the above in compliance with the Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013.

The review is to run from the 29th November to the 16th December 2018. The review is to be completed by the 23rd December 2018 and any changes will be effective for the ordinary elections on 2nd May 2019. Full details can be found at the following web-site:

Thank to everyone that has submitted a response to the Local Plan consultation regarding the proposed development at St George’s Barracks. Responses delivered to The Fox or 11 Digby Drive will be delivered to RCC this morning. The Parish Council met on Thursday 20th September and endorsed a formal response to the consultation which is attached.

Clearly this is but one element of a major campaign to convince the County Council that a new town is not needed in the heart of the County. The next stage will be to make our County Council members aware of the strength of opinion against a development of the proposed size, currently 2,700 new homes. The Council has taken a large number of calls from residents who say they’ve been contacted by scammers posing as Council officers and asking for bank details over the phone. In some cases they are also claiming to work for the resident’s bank to extract this information.

Our advice to resident’s is as follows and we would appreciate it if you could help to share these messages online, via social media or any other channels at your disposal:

• Rutland County Council will never contact residents out of the blue to ask for their bank details
• Anyone who does get a call from someone claiming to be from the Council and asking for bank details should hang up straight away – do not give out any personal information
• They should then report the call to the national fraud reporting centre, Action Fraud on: 0300 123 2040 or online at: www.actionfraud.police.uk

We have already been in touch with our pool of local media and Leicestershire Police, who are supporting this.

Closure of North Luffenham Level Crossing: 13 Oct – 14th October 2018

Does anyone know who owns the blue Audi that has been parked on Lyndon Road opposite Luffenham Court for a long time without moving?

There will be removals vans requiring access to Luffenham Court in the next few days and it would be appreciated if the car could be moved to prevent congestion during this period

There will be an Extraordinary Meeting of the Parish Council to be held on Thu 20th Sep 18 at 8.00pm  The meeting will be held in North Luffenham Community Centre. The key elements of the meeting will be consideration of the Parish Council’s response to the RCC Local Plan Consultation Documents. Members of the Public are welcome to attend, however there will be no public forum at this meeting.
