Garden Club Summer Outing – Wednesday 12th June
This year’s day trip out will be on Wednesday 12th June with a visit to 2 gardens near Newark/Lincoln – Brightwater Gardens, Saxby and Norwell Nurseries. Places are £30 per person which includes coach travel, entry to both gardens, a guided tour of Norwell Nurseries by owner, Andrew Ward plus tea/coffee and homemade cake.
Itinerary: Bus pick up North Luffenham (Church Street) 9.30am/Empingham (bus stop on Main Street) 9.45am; 11am arrive Brightwater; 1.15pm depart Brightwater for Norwell; 4.30pm depart Norwell
Please note you will have to provide your own picnic lunch, which can be eaten in the Gardens.

The planned work on 49 trees on the Oval Recreation ground that started on the 23rd April and scheduled to be finished by 30th has now been suspended. Much of the work has been carried out, however work on trees that had birds nesting in them was not undertaken, and will now take place in the Autumn

Stamford Horticultural Society are holding their Spring Horticultural Show featuring Flowers, Produce and Handicrafts on SAT 13TH APRIL 2019 and would welcome entries from anyone interested.

On Monday 18th of March a resident of the village found a stranger on her patio. The man was asked if there was any problem, replied in a well spoken voice and left. There was no vehicle to indicate, such as a delivery driver, as to why he should be at the property. The incident has been reported to the police and villagers are asked to be vigilant to any further sightings.
If you see a crime taking place or something suspicious please call 999 noting as much detail as possible including time, location, descriptions, direction of travel from the scene, make and model of any vehicles and if possible any registrations. This is your opportunity to join Wakerley & Barrowden WI members, partners and friends for the 2pm matinee performance on Monday 18th November, leaving Barrowden at 10am to travel to Thursford in Norfolk, returning at approximately 8pm. Non members and gentlemen are very welcome to join us.
