The coach leaves the village at 9.30 am, the cost is £30 each for entry into both the gardens, including the travel, and a guided tour by Dr Andrew Ward at Norwell. We will need to take picnic lunches to eat in the gardens; tea/coffee and biscuits are available to buy.

Network Rail has confirmed that engineers will begin major work on the railway in Leicestershire next week, affecting level crossings in Rutland.
As a result, some services will be temporarily diverted, increasing the number of trains passing over level crossings, particularly in the Oakham and Melton Mowbray areas.
Sadly in the early hours of this morning the village was once more hit by a group of thieves targeting motor vehicles. It is most strongly recommended that all valuable items are removed from cars overnight and that particular care is taken in respect of Sat Navs, Keys, Cash etc. Please remain vigilant, ensure that your car is locked and report any suspicious activity to the Police.

Since the project began in June 2014 our Specialist Advisers have managed to secure in excess of £3.75 million for clients through benefit gain, debt write off and grant funding. For Rutland raises the funds to pay for the Advisers and the Advisers through their knowledge and expertise can help their clients in this phenomenal way. We feel this proves the importance of this service and why it is so vital to maintain it for our Community. Due to the need to carry out weed control along parts of the permissive walkway that runs from Edith Weston Road round to the entrance to the allotments, the walkway will be closed from midday on Saturday 11th May 2019 through to midday on Monday 27th May 2019. The Parish Council apologises for any inconvienance that this may cause

Garden Club Summer Outing – Wednesday 12th June
This year’s day trip out will be on Wednesday 12th June with a visit to 2 gardens near Newark/Lincoln – Brightwater Gardens, Saxby and Norwell Nurseries. Places are £30 per person which includes coach travel, entry to both gardens, a guided tour of Norwell Nurseries by owner, Andrew Ward plus tea/coffee and homemade cake.
Itinerary: Bus pick up North Luffenham (Church Street) 9.30am/Empingham (bus stop on Main Street) 9.45am; 11am arrive Brightwater; 1.15pm depart Brightwater for Norwell; 4.30pm depart Norwell
Please note you will have to provide your own picnic lunch, which can be eaten in the Gardens.

The planned work on 49 trees on the Oval Recreation ground that started on the 23rd April and scheduled to be finished by 30th has now been suspended. Much of the work has been carried out, however work on trees that had birds nesting in them was not undertaken, and will now take place in the Autumn
