Camera club talk at 8pm at the Community Centre. For our September Speaker, the Camera Club welcomes Robin Stewart . who is a lecturer in Cookery and Photography. His background covers experience on the QE2 and top London hotels, Carlton Tower, the Dorchester and Gleneagles. He also worked in Switzerland and Australia. He has now moved into Recipe development for major supermarkets and was awarded a Gold medal at the Culinary Olympics in Frankfurt. Having branched out into the use of Photography with his culinary skills, he will talk about setting up, lighting and lenses, etc. which he uses to produce Food Photography for the various Magazines, which he is associated with, locally. As usual, everyone is very welcome to come along and join in with, what promises to be, a most interesting evening. Entry for non-members is £2.

To commemorate the beginning of the First World War a Vigil Service will be held at North Luffenham Church at 7-30 pm. 101 candles will be lit in remembrance of the 101 men from the Benefice who gave their lives in WW1.

Tree Planters Needed – On Saturday 15th March the Parish Council will be planting around 500 trees to create a woodland area on part of the 14 acres of Parish Council land next to the allotments. If any of you would like to volunteer your help, even if it is just for half an hour, please contact Charles Cade via the Parish Council contact form, or just turn up on the day from 10am with shovel in hand 🙂 at the entrance to the allotments behind the bowls club.
Bell Ringers Wanted! – We are very short of regular ringers, if anyone is interested in learning to ring bells, please contact Vic Arnold the Tower Captain.
Kitchen Closing – The Fox & Hounds will be closing their kitchen after serving lunches on Sunday March 16th.
We meet again on Monday 10th February at 12.45pm (prompt) in the Community Centre,
followed by meetings on 24th February, 10th and 24th March, and 9th April.
This term we are looking at techniques using water based mediums i.e. watercolour,
gouche and acrylics. The subject for the next few meetings will cover landscape.
New members are always welcome.
