The Roving Vaccination Unit is visiting Rutland on Thursday 23 April and Thursday 21 May 2026 to offer the spring COVID-19 vaccination to those who are eligible. Please read the attached poster for more details and locations.

Rutland County Council has confirmed that free travel on the Rutland Callconnect network will be extended for a further 12 months, until 31 March 2027.

We’ve recently received complaints about dog fouling around the village, particularly on footpaths and public areas.

We’d like to remind all dog owners that it is your responsibility to clean up after your dog and dispose of waste appropriately. Dog fouling is unpleasant, poses a health risk, and affects everyone who lives in and visits our community.

Please ensure you always carry bags when walking your dog and use the bins provided — or take it home if needed.

Rutland County Council is currently consulting on a planning application submitted by Heidelberg Materials (Castle Cement) for the extension of Grange Top Quarry (application 2024/0066/MIN). The proposals include revised access arrangements, which may alter HGV traffic patterns on the A606 and possibly the surrounding villages.
