Oval Trees – Notice of works

Please be advised that from Tuesday 23rd April 2019 through to the 30th April, contractors on behalf of the Parish Council will be carrying out works on numerous trees on the Oval Recreation Ground. It is anticipated that the contractors will be on site from 8.30 am each day.

Sandringham Flower Show

North Luffenham Good Companions.

I am trying to get enough people for a bus to Sandringham Flower Show on Wednesday 24th July leaving North Luffenham at 9 am and leaving Sandringham at approx. 4.30. This trip is open to all the villages. The cost will be approx. £22 50 including entrance to the show. Please ring Evelyn  01780720528 or Helen 01780720607 as soon as possible.

NSPCC Rutland Water Bike Ride and 5k run. Sunday 9th June

North Luffenham Garden Club

The April Garden Club meeting is on Thursday 11th April, at 7.30pm in the Community Centre and we would like to remind you that our speaker this month is nurseryman, Rob Potterton from Caistor N. Lincs, giving a talk about Alpines & Bulbs – From Mountain to Market.

As usual there will be hot drinks and a Raffle , with hopefully, some plants to buy as well. Please do come as everyone is welcome, including non-members.

For North Luffenham, as there was only 8 nominations then the election is uncontested, with the details of those duuly elected. The same applies to the ward of Normanton of which we form part

North Luffenham Garden Club

Stamford Horticultural Society are holding their Spring Horticultural Show featuring Flowers, Produce and Handicrafts on SAT 13TH APRIL 2019 and would welcome entries from anyone interested.

If anyone would like to enter the show, please take your exhibit to the United Reformed Church, Broad Street, Stamford, from 8.00 am – 11.00 am on the day. The show is then open for viewing from 2 – 4.00 pm

Villager reports stranger on patio.

On Monday 18th of March a resident of the village found a stranger on her patio. The man was asked if there was any problem, replied in a well spoken voice and left. There was no vehicle to indicate, such as a delivery driver, as to why he should be at the property. The incident has been reported to the police and villagers are asked to be vigilant to any further sightings.

If you see a crime taking place or something suspicious please call 999 noting as much detail as possible including time, location, descriptions, direction of travel from the scene, make and model of any vehicles and if possible any registrations.
